Danet provides a new Test Solution for Value-added Services
|

22.05.06

Efficient Services are a MUST while the Football World Cup Championship is in full swing
Weiterstadt, May 22, 2006. Danet GmbH has developed a new test solution, called SoftRobots, that enables mobile communications and value-added service providers to test the 24/7 coverage of their services prior to start the live operation. It is the World Cup itself that generates new mobile service offerings for mobile phones, whose area-wide and anytime availability has however hardly been measured yet.
SoftRobot is testing whether new value-added mobile services are 24 hours a day on call, what their response times are and whether the services ordered have been provided. The test results are documented in form of standardized reports on a daily basis, offering the customers in this way a decision-making basis for the use of new services and business models. Danet is currently running tests for a major mobile communications carrier, e.g. in the field of its Mobile TV and ring tone services.
From the technical point of view, the test solution offers a new level of automation. This means that the SoftRobots access the keyboard of a mobile phone electronically and retrieve video data directly from the display chip. Mobile phones and value-added services had so far been tested by means of robots which activated the keys, or via a mobile phone integrated control interface, and –last but not least- a digital camera which had taken pictures of the displays.
